Central Railway/Bus Station: 42.4 kms (1hr 19min). On a regular day it takes a 1hr 20 min drive by car to reach ‘The Now’. Nearest Bus Terminal: Nedumangad 27kms. Vithura 5kms. There are direct buses from Trivandrum Central and Nedumangad to Kallar and Ponmudi.

CLIMATE: Hot and humid in the day and pleasant during nights in Summer. The rains starts in mid-May and continues till September, sometimes stretching till December. During the Monsoon season, one can expect heavy rains and flooding, which nevertheless makes a visit to Kallar very special for the adventurous as the river swells to a terrifying level and the rapid currents make for a spellbinding spectacle.
